We both enjoyed our time at San Diego Zoo, we spent the whole day there, but we were a little miffed to find that once paying to go in you had to pay again to go on the cable car over the park ($2.50 for a two minute ride).  But apart from that they had a great selection of animals, I particularly liked the Monkeys.
