John Young is one of the most experienced Astronauts who has ever lived.  He has flown on six missions including Gemini 3, Gemini 10, Apollo 10, Apollo 16, STS-1 and STS-9.  Captain Young is still qualified to command future shuttle missions. 

I have been fortunate enough meet Capt. Young on three separate occasions the first was a lecture at the Museum of Flight in Edinburgh back in July 2000, Secondly was at the Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction at Kennedy Space Center in November 2001 and finally at another lecture  in Edinburgh in November 2001 .
