In March 2004 I wanted to go for a long weekend
somewhere, but I also wanted to avoid the standard European cities that I
have been to in the past, so I looked for something a bit different and
decided on Iceland.
It is just a 4
hour flight from the UK so that meant it did not eat to much into our holiday
time, I also wanted to show Sarah the Northern Lights, something she had never
seen before. |
Unfortunately because the weather was not very good we did
not get to see them. We stayed in a small hotel in Reykjavik, and went on a a
couple of excursions into the mountains to see the geysers and waterfalls as
well as taking a trip to the Blue Lagoon. Just click on the link below to see
some of the photographs that I took when I was there. |

If you are planning a trip to Iceland I would highly
recommend this Lonely Planet guide, I found it very useful whilst
over there. You can order it direct from Amazon.com by clicking HERE
or from Amazon.co.uk their British site by clicking HERE. |

You may also be interested in the Rough Guide to Iceland, I
did not use it on my trip but I have heard nothing by praise for these guidebooks.
