Charles "Pete" Conrad had an extensive career at NASA he flew aboard Gemini 5, Gemini 11, Apollo 12 and Skylab SL-2.  He became the 3rd person to walk on the moon in 1969 when he landed the Lunar Module in the Ocean of Storms just yards away from the Surveyor Lander.
